Non-Teaching Substitute Application Process

 

The Pembina Trails School Division is currently accepting applications for the Educational Assistant, School Secretary and Library Technician substitute listings, however; we are not actively recruiting new substitutes at this time.

How to apply

If you are interested in applying for the Educational Assistant, School Secretary or Library Technician substitute list you must apply in person with the following information/documentation:

  • cover letter
  • resume
  • three (3) work-related letters of reference from an immediate supervisor (one of which must be from your most recent employer) or letters of reference from a reputable volunteer organization.
  • copy of Grade 12 diploma or transcript (For EA Substitutes ONLY)

 

All applications are reviewed (no acknowledgement is sent) and should an applicant’s qualifications and experience match those of the positions the Division is currently seeking to fill, including substitute positions, applicants may be contacted for a general interview by the Human Resources Department.

Applications will be kept on file for the school year.

Pursuant to Section 41 of the Public Schools Act, the Pembina Trails School Division has a duty to ensure that each pupil enrolled in one of its schools is provided with a safe and caring school environment that fosters and maintains respectful and responsible behaviours.  This information is being collected as part of Pembina Trails School Division’s duty.  Personnel files in Pembina Trails School Division are maintained according to Policy GBJ.

Only original or true verified copies of these checks are acceptable. All forms and checks must be completed as they are a condition of employment for all new employees.

  • Provide a signed Pledge of Confidentiality prior to employment commencing.
  • Verification of a valid social insurance number. You must provide an original of your Social Insurance Number card which will be photocopied OR a copy of a letter from Service Canada verifying your SIN.
  • Educational Assistants must produce a copy of their Grade 12 diploma or transcript of marks prior to employment commencing.

By submitting your on-line application to us, you certify that all statements made in this application are correct and that you understand that the Pembina Trails School Division may conduct a personal investigation and you hereby give your consent in accordance with the Personal Investigation Act to such personal investigation being conducted by the Pembina Trails School Division in connection with this, your application for employment.
