The Pembina Trails School Division will accept applications for the Substitute Teacher list, however; we are not actively recruiting new substitutes at this time.

Applications will be kept on file for the school year and will be used to supplement the casual list on an as needed basis.

Only fully completed applications will be added to our repository of candidates for the Substitute Teacher list. You will be contacted if you have been selected.

No Phone Calls Please

The following documents are required to complete your substitute application:

  • Application form (to be completed in person at 181 Henlow Bay)

  • Resume

  • Copy of your Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate

    • New graduates please indicate the name of the University you attended and the date of convocation. A copy of the certificate must be forwarded to the Substitute Clerk when issued.

  • Banking information - please attach a voided cheque or provide your bank account number, institution number, and transit number.

  • Paycheques relating to salary earned by substitute teachers during any month is deposited automatically on the 10th of the following calendar month.

  • Three references

  • Previous employment

  • Social Insurance Number Card Verification: All new employees, including substitutes and casuals, are required to provide a photocopy of their Social Insurance Number Card OR a photocopy of the header of their last tax assessment from CRA to verify their SIN.

  • Child Abuse Registry Check (two pieces of identification are required - i.e. Driver's Licence, Social Insurance, Manitoba Health)

  • Criminal Record Search

  • Letter of Reference (from most recent teaching experience)

Pursuant to Section 41 of the Public Schools Act, the Pembina Trails School Division has a duty to ensure that each pupil enrolled in one of its schools is provided with a safe and caring school environment that fosters and maintains respectful and responsible behaviours.  This information is being collected as part of Pembina Trails School Division’s duty.  Personnel files in Pembina Trails School Division are maintained according to Policy GBJ.

Only original or true verified copies of these checks are acceptable. All forms and checks must be completed as they are a condition of employment for all new employees.

  • Provide a signed Pledge of Confidentiality prior to employment commencing.
  • Verification of a valid social insurance number. You must provide an original of your Social Insurance Number card which will be photocopied OR a copy of a letter from Service Canada verifying your SIN.
  • Educational Assistants must produce a copy of their Grade 12 diploma or transcript of marks prior to employment commencing.

By submitting your on-line application to us, you certify that all statements made in this application are correct and that you understand that the Pembina Trails School Division may conduct a personal investigation and you hereby give your consent in accordance with the Personal Investigation Act to such personal investigation being conducted by the Pembina Trails School Division in connection with this, your application for employment.
